Subversive Sophisticated Style

1956- Gordon Parks documented the everyday lives of an extended black family living in rural Alabama under Jim Crow segregation for Life magazine’s photo-essay “The Restraints: Open and Hidden.” (via)

It’s sad because as much as we think “we” have progressed “we” have not. It is truly a shame. I don’t understand how someone can hate someone because of their skin color, because of their differences? People do not choose their family, their skin, the environment they are born into. The same people who hate on those who are different could have been born just like them.

WE ARE ALL THE SAME. Shit like someones skin color does not fucking matter. Such an easy concept to grasp. smh
